Act One Independent Filmmaking Bootcamp

By February 9, 2017Act One Bootcamps
Join Act One for its third Bootcamp Series Workshop! Come and hear from independent filmmakers Vince Masciale (2011 alumni) and Luke Barnett on their horror-comedy hit, Fear, Inc. Shot on a micro budget, Fear, Inc premiered at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival where it sold to Dean Devlin’s (producer of Independence Day) Electric Entertainment. The film stars Lucas Neff (Raising Hope), Caitlin Stasey (Reign), and Academy Award nominee Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine, Scream Queens).
Hear about the nitty gritty of this duo’s filmmaking hacks as they take you from developing a marketable idea right into financing, casting, pre-production, production, post production, marketing, debuting at a major festival, getting picked up by a distributor, and even snagging a recognizable star!  They’ll also go into things like how to use one project to green-light the next one, getting an agent and manager, and the importance of embracing the digital space.
Vince and Luke will go through each step of the process in non-studio speak so you can apply it to your own up-and-coming projects. You will also walk away with dozens of valuable legal document templates they actually used while making Fear, Inc.
Don’t wait for permission to start your project today!  It can be done, and this Bootcamp can show you how.

Director/producer Vincent Masciale and writer/producer Luke Barnett are a filmmaking team best known for their work on Will Ferrell’s “Funny or Die”, where they created the Streamy nominated series The Walking Fred, among many other topical comedy videos. In 2014, Barnett produced Loitering with Intent, a comedy starring Marisa Tomei and Sam Rockwell. Last year, the duo made their feature length debut, a horror-comedy based on their original short film called Fear, Inc. Fear, Inc premiered at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival and stars Lucas Neff (Raising Hope), Caitlin Stasey (Reign), Mark Moses (Mad Men), and Academy Award nominee Abigail Breslin. Under their production banner, Lone Suspect, Masciale and Barnett are currently in development on multiple film, television, and new media projects.
